Sonnet No. 9

Life is too short to not enjoy
every single moment
as if it were the last.

Not easy for some condemned to die,
or others unable to forgive,
some hurt or trauma of life's passage.

Yet, to those whose spirits yearn to fly,
as well to those who'll never learn ;
I send this winged message . . .

Each day awake and make it shine,
with vibrations found around you,
symbols that show some sign . . .

Of what true beauty hides away,
in shadowy corners of your mind ;
stored and stacked in lonely attics . . .

Full of cobwebs and lost dreams,
take them out and give them space
to breathe, and come alive again.

Get rid of those no longer worth
what you believed important ;
this moment, now, deserves your smile.

Young or old climb that mountain
there, look all around you and see,
the beauty which awaits your presence.

Silently bow before that sight, sound,
touch, taste or smell, which give delight ;
all these wonders are yours to enjoy.

Gifts sent free from that Great Energy ;
Life's Indelible Beat !

Panmelys 2009 (Je Suis Charlie / I Am Charlie- 2015).

This poem echoes the memories of those great artists who died at the hand of jihadists ; the new virus attacking liberty, freedom, fraternity, and democracy, values of France, and Western Culture, which today we join hands with all those deeply shocked and grieved : linking our spirits with those families and compatriots' left behind, policemen, innocent citizens, seventeen victims: they will resurrect as symbols of values which nothing shall ever destroy, shared by all peoples who treasure fraternity, liberty and freedom, worldwide ! Vivre La France !
