CELTIC VIBRATIONS

homage to W. B. Yeats

In a time when time was unconscious
so not as it seems: simply 'there',
nine hazels of wisdom grew
deep in a well, below the sea
known as the hazels of inspiration.

Their fruit and leaves birthed
in a like hour, show'ring the well
with their know-how;
forming a great purple wave,
called the knowledge of poetry.

Take heed, new worlds, burdened
and bent down : of the words:
knowledge of poetry, where Olav's,
Druids, spent lifetime's learning
all arts of their trade's poetic wisdom.
